Big Brothers Big Sisters

Mission:
Big Brothers Big Sisters describes itself as a one-on-one youth mentoring organization that develops positive relationships that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young people ages 6-16.
Volunteer Duties:
Meet with a child just a few times a month to enjoy activities such as shooting hoops, playing board games, sharing a pizza, going for walks or just hanging out.
Volunteer Requirements:
Volunteers must provide references and go through a background check and a careful interview process.
Training:
Volunteers receive support from professional staff members at the local agency who check in regularly and are always available to answer questions.
Time Commitment:
Volunteers must make a minimum 12-month commitment, meeting with their Little Brother or Little Sister two-three times a month for a few hours.
Group Volunteering:
Groups are welcome to participate at special events. Couples and families can be a "Big" together.
